Arran 1998 Ewan's Cut 26 Year Old

Back in 1998, after 3 years of maturation, the first ever cask of  Arran single malt distilled at Lochranza distillery was opened in a special celebration on 25th July by none other than renowned Scottish actor, Ewan McGregor. As a thank you he was gifted a cask of his own, a sherry hogshead that lay maturing at the distillery until its bottling in 2024, making it at the time one of the oldest releases from Arran to date.

Cask 1998/369 yielded 240 bottles and each of these features a unique label design. Ewan and his brother, Colin, worked with The Leith Agency in Edinburgh to design these, each of which takes the form of a film script and contain references to Ewan's life, work and the cask itself. 150 of these bottles were auctioned exclusively here at Whisky Auctioneer in our September 2024 auction, with all proceeds donated to the Children's Hospices Association Scotland.
